This workshop series will teach you valuable skills and help you gain confidence in your ability to manage your finances, eat healthy on a budget, navigate the rental market, maintain your vehicle, and more!

1. Budget Basics
Budgeting helps you get the most out of your income, save for the future and meet your financial goals. In this workshop, you will learn how to create your own personal budget, the effects of consumerism, as well as money saving tips to help make living in the Bow Valley a little more affordable.

2. Basic Car Maintenance – Winterize Your Ride
Empower yourself with this judgement-free and super informative session on how to complete basic car maintenance tasks like changing a tire, using booster cables, checking and understanding vehicle fluids, as well as what to look for when buying a car. You will also learn what you need to do to get your vehicle ready for winter in the mountains.

3. Rent Smart
If you are a new renter, new to renting in Alberta or wanting more information on how to have a successful tenancy this introductory course is a great starting point. Being a good tenant requires knowledge, skills and confidence in your rights. This workshop provides an overview of the key things you need to know to find, apply for and keep housing. You will receive a letter of completion after taking the course to show to your potential landlord, and give yourself an advantage in the competitive Bow Valley rental market.

4. Budget Friendly Soups & Stews
Soups and stews are great way to eat healthy on a budget. In this hands-on workshop, you will master three delicious, budget friendly and healthy recipes that will keep you warm through the winter months. You’ll leave with new skills, a recipe booklet, three meals to take home and a full belly! All ages welcome, parent participation required for youth 15 and younger.
