Adulting 101

Transitioning to adulthood can be tricky and knowing where to start can be difficult. To help youth in grades 10 – 12 develop skills beyond those learned in school and at home, and to help them transition into adulthood, Adulting 101 sessions provide opportunities for participants to build independence and confidence in their ability to enter the adult world.

While each Adulting 101 workshop focuses on a different skill, every workshop will provide participants with:

  • Practical skills and tools to face adult situations
  • Topic-specific resources and local contacts
  • Self-esteem and the confidence in their ability to live on their own
  • An opportunity to meet other people the same age and create a support network
  • A chance to win an Adulting goody bag with local treats and workshop-specific items

Participants can sign up for all workshops or for single sessions. More workshops are being added, so be sure to check back often for new opportunities.

Session topics: Basic car maintenance, outdoor survival skills, applying to university, rentals and roommates, travelling safe and smart, cooking on a budget, and taxes.
